1. Who we are

This website (clearwayforge.com) and the Clearway Forge plugin are operated by:

2. What this policy covers

It describes how we handle personal data when you visit clearwayforge.com, buy a licence, install the plugin on your WordPress site, or write to us for support.

It does not cover the data your own store collects from its shoppers. That is governed by your privacy policy, because the plugin writes it to your database and never sends it to us.

3. What the plugin stores, and where it stays

Clearway Forge records AI referrals, sessions, attribution touches and crawler hits in tables inside your own WordPress database. None of it is transmitted to us, and the plugin makes no external calls in the shopper request path.

Two choices in the design are worth stating plainly, because they limit what exists at all:

• IP addresses are not stored. An address is truncated to its /24 network and hashed with a key that rotates daily, so a visit cannot be traced back to an address after the day ends.
• The first-party attribution cookie respects the WordPress Consent API. Where a consent plugin says no, the cookie is not set.
• The plugin registers WordPress personal-data exporter and eraser hooks, so a shopper request under GDPR or CCPA can be answered from your own admin.

4. What this website collects

This site is static and serves no analytics, no advertising tags and no third-party trackers. It sets no cookies of its own, which is why there is no cookie banner to dismiss.

Our hosting provider keeps standard web-server logs (IP address, user agent, requested path, timestamp) for security and abuse detection.

5. Account, licence and payment data

The free plugin needs no account. When you buy the paid add-on, we collect your name, email address and billing country.

Payments are processed by Freemius Inc. We never see your full card number, CVV or bank details. Freemius passes us a transaction identifier, the amount, the billing country and the licence purchased.

When a paid licence is activated, the plugin performs a licence check once a day. That handshake records your site domain, the plugin version, the WordPress version and the licence key. It carries no store data, no order data and no visitor data.

6. Support data

When you write to support@avakode.com we keep the message, your email address and any attachments, so we can answer and refer back to the history later.

7. Legal basis

• Performance of a contract: delivering the plugin, processing payments, verifying licences, providing support.
• Legitimate interest: securing our infrastructure, detecting abuse, improving the product.
• Consent: optional product announcements. You can withdraw it at any time.
• Legal obligation: tax records, accounting, fraud prevention.

8. Who we share data with

We use two sub-processors, both bound by data processing agreements:

• Freemius Inc. (United States and EU): payment processing, licence management, tax invoicing.
• Cloudflare, Inc. (global edge network): hosting for this website.

9. International transfers

Our sub-processors operate globally, so data may be processed outside your country. For transfers from the EU or UK we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent lawful mechanism.

10. How long we keep data

• Account data: while your account is active, plus 3 years after closure.
• Payment records: 7 years, for tax and accounting obligations.
• Licence verification logs: up to 2 years after the licence expires.
• Support tickets: 3 years after the ticket is closed.
• Web-server logs: up to 90 days.

11. How we protect data

• All traffic to clearwayforge.com is encrypted with TLS 1.3.
• Access to production systems is limited to authorised people.
• Dependencies are updated and scanned on a regular schedule.

12. Your rights

Wherever you live, you may ask us to:

• Give you access to the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
• Delete your data, subject to the retention periods in section 10.
• Export your data in a machine-readable format.
• Stop processing based on legitimate interest.
• Withdraw consent for optional messages.
• Complain to your local data protection authority.

13. Children

Clearway Forge is a professional tool for running an online store. It is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

14. Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy. For material changes we notify active customers by email and post a notice here at least 30 days before they take effect. The date at the top always reflects the latest revision.
